Special Notes:

The schedule showing which dates have been assigned to Band to run concessions is shown below. We've already done "our" football game---which means we can just enjoy the games and band at Homecoming and the East vs North games! For serving at these events we will receive $500 which will go to the general Band Boosters fund, allowing for things like guest conductors and instrument purchase or repair. In addition to the dates below, I have agreed to run concessions for up to 5 additional events for $100/event. These are unscheduled at this time---they will be events that Mr. Kreig will offer to host throughout the year; most likely tournaments or invites in the spring. Generally I need 4 - 6 people to run each event. You do not need to know anything to help---whatever you do will require about 3 minutes of "training"!

Please let me know which one(s) you can help with. Also, it would be very helpful if some people can agree to be "on call"---people I can start with for the additional events that may come our way later.

Dates:

None right now.

On Call

Not yet scheduled; let me know if I can put you on a list to try when needed.

As always, thanks much for your help!

You will be getting an official letter from the band directors shortly, but I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their tremendous help and support this year. We had a wonderful year (except for the horrific marching band weather!), and I look forward to much of the same next year.

Summer band will begin on August 16th, with the drum line reporting at 5:00 PM, the freshmen and leaders at 6:30 PM, and the rest of the band at 7:30 PM. The official dates and times for summer marching band are:

Monday, August 16th 5/6:30/7:30-9:15
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, August 17-19, 6:45-9:15 PM
Monday, August 23 6:45-9:15 PM
Tuesday, August 24 6:45-8:45 PM
Thursday, August 26 7-9 PM

There will be a couple of additional night practices that will be added after school starts. You will get the exact dates in the letter sent home soon.

The football games are September 3, September 24, October 1, October 8, and October 15.

Every student who uses a school instrument (saxophones, baritones, french horns, tuba) will need to bring a $60 check to cover instrument rental made out to St. Charles East High School to the first rehearsal in August. No instruments will be issued until the fee is paid. Percussionists will need to bring a check for $30. Again, no instruments will be issued until the fee is paid.

Thanks again for all your help, and we look forward to seeing you in August.

Have a great summer!
